Pupils are often eager to learn to drive as quickly as possible, especially if they have already begun lessons and feel their progress is slower than expected.
Professional, friendly, patient, progressive regular weekly lessons, ideally scheduled on the same day and time, are crucial for planning around other commitments such as work and social activities.
Financial Challenges
Money can be a significant barrier. The number of lessons a pupil would like to take is usually determined by their disposable income, and sometimes support from parents is unavailable.
This financial limitation means pupils must carefully manage their resources to continue their learning journey especially not knowing how many lessons they may require or how the waiting lists may delay a test day.
It is foolish to commit to this, if you are going to need to cancel lessons or suspend your learning simply due to financial reasons later in the course.
Accelerate School of Motoring's Approach
At Accelerate School of Motoring (automatic), we understand these financial concerns and strive to structure lessons in a way that meets pupils' expectations.
Our lesson structure is designed to support steady progress while considering the financial realities faced by learners.
If you are driving to the required standard and unfortunately the driving test is still too far away, we will not just keep booking lessons for the sake of it.
We will mutually and professionally make a plan thinking of your finances to either fight for an earlier driving test date. If not possible we will agree on the amount of lessons you need, to save you money but not lose the skills you have worked so hard to achieve until the test is closer
Booking and Information Process
You are most probably reading this after our initial telephone conversation, well done.
All of our pupils do this, when they make the initial enquiry to review what is offered, the prices, and especially the cancellation policy which is non-negotiable. This transparency ensures that pupils are fully informed about everything before making a booking.
We want your learning experience to be exciting and fun, and if everything is agreed on, up front verbally and in writing, everyone is happy.
Lesson Structure and Pricing
Only after reviewing this information, you are then encouraged to verbally make contact again to discuss securing a booking, and seek clarification about anything you are not sure about.
'We only offer 105-minute lessons, we do not offer single-hour sessions.'
The cost for each session is £85, with concessions available for those using their own vehicle, whether automatic or manual.

Our course is designed to build upon each previous lesson, maximising learning outcomes.
By progressing quickly, and usually passing the driving test on the first attempt, pupils ultimately save money in the long run.
Comparing with Other Schools
Many other driving schools lack structured lessons and just work on a week to week see how we go type scenario, leading to slower progress and increasing costs for pupils in the long term.
It is not uncommon for learners to spend the initial hours driving around car parks without practising real-world driving scenarios. The instructor drives you to a carpark, goes in circles then drives you home again.
We wont do this.
Most instructors rely on reference points, such as tape stuck to the side doors to achieve road positioning or to cheat manoeuvres, that wont be applicable in the pupil's future vehicle.
We wont do this.
Additionally, many instructors fail to advise pupils to book their theory test promptly to combat the delays with waiting lists, which is vital to avoid long waiting lists.
We wont do this.

Individual Experience and Reflection
Learning to drive is a one-on-one situation, leaving pupils without peers to compare their performance. Often, learners find the instructor friendly and simply trust that they have their best interests at heart, so just go along with the process, doubting their own abilities when its not going to plan, when in fact the instructor is not trying to get the best from the pupil.
Benefits of a Structured Approach
Imagine knowing your lesson time and day each week, and driving on actual roads from your very first session. An instructor who genuinely cares about your competence and safety ensures you are ready to drive your own car immediately upon passing your test, without relying on impractical reference points.
Financial Perspective
Although each longer weekly lesson may cost a little more, than budgeting to Single lesson slots, the progress made in 105 mins is equivalent to taking several single hours of lessons. Cheaper in your own car, see the prices page.
If a pupil cannot afford these lessons, it raises questions about their ability to pay for a car, insurance, road tax, and rising petrol prices later on, don't you think?
Let me explain
Imagine an hour lesson. You set off from home and drive to a learner area, 15 minutes.
You then have a debrief about that drive and move on to chat about a new subject another 15 minutes.
You the set about practicing that new subject for 15 minutes and drive home again.
You then wait a week and repeat the process.
So for example:
With Accelerate you still drive initially for the first 15 minutes, you still debrief but then are taught a subject without rushing ensuring a greater learning retention.
Then wait for it, you then drive practicing that new subject for the next hour before the 15 minute drive home.
You could argue therefore, that you get 4 single hours worth of learning in only one week.
Who do you think is going to pass first?
Who do you think will be paying less in the long term?
Our Commitment
In summary, our aim is to teach pupils to drive, exceed their expectations, and help them obtain their driving licence as quickly and economically as possible. This is how it is achieved.
Terms and Conditions
We do our best to ensure no surprises along the way.
Once a pupil secures a regular lesson booking, we email you a document with the terms and conditions.
This provides clear documentation of what has been discussed. If you are satisfied, you need to reply back to us confirming 'You agree to the terms & conditions.'
This following statement may seem harsh, but we would sooner you go to another school than have a bad experience with us. So make sure we are the right Driving School for you before you commit to taking driving lessons with us.
Please, take advise from a trusted friend or parent, then lets start to Accelerate on the road to success striving to meet a realistic timescale at a price that meets your pocket.
So....If you have made your mind up pick up the phone to me or text, lets get rolling.
Swapping Driving Schools?
55% of our pupils switch to us from other local schools, because their expectations were not being met. Then once with us, they go on to pass first time, usually with less than 5 driver faults and much quicker than they ever believed possible.
Over the years, these are some of the complaints I hear from people coming to us from other Driving Schools.
The Instructor doesn't turn up, or cancels at short notice, making stupid excuses
You need to miss a lesson so your instructor ghosts your calls
You get shouted at when you do something wrong
Even after weeks of tuition, the instructor keeps you in the passenger seat 'to and from' the lesson.
We do use carparks for manoeuvres but you drive in circles around car parks instead of going on the road
You are given stickers or marker points (guide points) to use when manoeuvring, which will only work on the tuition vehicle.
The instructor is always on there mobile telephone
The list goes on.... But basically your getting nowhere fast and spending loads of money.
So, whether you're jumping back into driving lessons or thinking about making a switch because your current Driving School isn't cutting it, finding a replacement instructor is super important!
I focus on giving you a professional and dependable learning experience.
Every lesson is tailored to your skill level, so you can really make progress toward getting your license.
Whether you’re just starting out or coming from another school, I’m all about creating a relaxed and supportive space where your time and growth matter.
I believe that making steady progress and having a reliable schedule are key to boosting your confidence behind the wheel.
